These are pictures captured during a trip to
the marine railway in Muskoka, about 1 hour north of Toronto. The actual
location, Big Chute, is part of the Severn inland waterway system, with
locks and canals joining Lake Huron (Georgian Bay) through Lake Simcoe,
and continuing through the Trent System to Lake Ontario.
There are many other locks and recreational
lakes along the way, including 2 Lift Locks which move water and boats
up and down in giant tubs. This is the only marine railway on the route.
